Our Values

Storehouse Stewardship was founded with simple principles in mind. To provide clear, accurate, and accessible financial insights to businesses, to hold ourselves to the highest of Christian standards in business, and to never treat a business partner as "just another client". While these seem like simple principles, we have found that such simplicity is lacking in the business world. So often, we see fancy marketing and corporate "spin" put on what should be a straight forward conversation, leading to confusion about what is true versus what is just meant to get you to sign up for a service that you may not even need. At Storehouse Stewardship, we never want you to question whether or not what you're hearing from us or paying us for is true or even something valuable and meaningful for your business. Let's look at what we really mean by our principles so that you can decide for yourself if we are worth your valuable time and consideration.

1. "To provide clear, accurate, and accessible financial insights to businesses"

We always want to ensure that you not only have the information that you need in the form of detailed financial reports but that you understand these reports, know where to find them inside of your QuickBooks Online account for the most up to date information as of that day, how detailed we can make these reports based on your needs, and how the information within these reports affects your business today and planning for the future. That's a lot of words to say, we want to make sure that you not only have access to the information that you need, but that you understand the information and what you can do with it to plan for tomorrow's success.

2. "To hold ourselves to the highest of Christian standards in business"

Plenty of businesses will say that they're a "Christian business" but never define what that really means or how it relates to you as someone considering doing business with us, so we're going to define that for ourselves here. Our Christian standards do not mean that we are here to preach to you or try and convert you, nor are we against working with people of other beliefs or backgrounds. Our Christian standards govern our own actions in that "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." (Colossians 3:23-24). When you work with Storehouse Stewardship, we are treating your finances as God's own finances, entrusted to us to properly manage in good faith for the benefit of the owner (Matthew 25:14-30).

While we are certainly trying to make a living, we are not pursuing fabulous riches at the expense of you, your business, or our morals. We don't believe in taking advantage of people through fancy words, confusing offers, or pressuring anyone into anything that they either don't need or that we cannot reasonably deliver on a consistent basis as this is deceitful and does not represent the standards that God calls us to live up to. We choose to seek our treasures in Heaven over treasures on Earth (Matthew 6:19-21) through honesty and truthfulness, where "All you need to say is simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one" (Matthew 5:37).

3. "To never treat a business partner as 'just another client'"

We never want to see any of our business relationships as a "Business-Client" relationship. We feel that this is too cold and distanced, leading to inherent consideration of your business as something replaceable or only a task to handle. We want to ensure that every business who chooses to trust us is treated as a valuable member of our work family, regardless of how large or small your business is or how much of your finances you've asked us to assist with. We always want to spend a month or two working closely with each new business, creating a partnership where we focus on your success through clarity of your finances and planning ahead for the goals that you're dreaming for in the future. We will create a culture of open, relaxed discussions about where you're at, where you want your business to grow, and how we can get there through measurable processes and strategies. Your success is our success.

What does the word "Family" mean to us?

That has become a cliche thing to throw around in the world of work, usually seen as a "red flag" to most workers and carrying a lot of social and emotional baggage in our current world of so many broken and dysfunctional homes. So why would we intentionally use the term "Family" when there is such a negative view on it in the workplace? Because it's the model that God uses for our salvation, protection, status of belonging, and hope for the future. For an oversimplified explanation, in the ancient Jewish traditions Israel was a tribal society where there was no overarching Federal Government to protect an individual, their rights, their possessions, or their belonging within society; that was all handled within the family unit. Anyone without direct ties to a family beyond blood relation was without any of the protections or stability that we tend to take for granted in Western Society.

Being part of our "Family" means that we treat you not as a project but as a brother or sister. It means that we're working alongside you to care for your business financial status as well as to help you achieve your dreams for the future. We're happy to educate you where you may have knowledge gaps, work through strategies and planning for achieving your business goals, and tell you honestly what we think during those times. This is not because we think that we have all of the answers because we know that we don't, but having another perspective inside of an honest conversation where all parties are seeking the success of your business means that the best ideas rise to the top and everyone's personal blind spots are being covered by someone else to keep us all safe and moving forward together. Our overall success is not measured by the monthly revenue of Storehouse Stewardship, but in the success stories of our partners finding business success through clear, accurate, and accessible financial insights, holding ourselves to the highest of Christian standards in business, and building valuable and trust-filled partnerships with fellow business leaders.
